About cleanailabels.com

cleanailabels.com is a straightforward utility: upload an image, see what metadata it carries, and download a cleaned copy with removable metadata stripped. No account, no queue, no tracking of your files.

Why it exists

Images carry more information than what you see. A photo taken on a phone can contain the exact GPS coordinates of where it was shot, the device model, and the time it was taken. An image exported from an editor can carry author names, keywords, and software versions. Most people never see this data, and many would prefer it not leave their hands.

How it works

The tool re-encodes your image server-side. Re-encoding reconstructs the image from its pixel data, which means supported metadata blocks — EXIF, IPTC, XMP, and removable C2PA manifests — are not carried into the output. The cleaned file is then re-analyzed and the report tells you exactly what was removed and what remains.

What it does not do

Cleaning metadata is not the same as making an image undetectable. This tool cannot remove invisible watermarks embedded in pixels, and it cannot stop social platforms from using their own detection systems. We do not claim otherwise.

Privacy by design

Files are deleted automatically after processing. There is no user database and no permanent image storage. The source is open for review, and the project ships with automated tests that verify metadata removal and file cleanup actually happen.
